Summer works as the perfect excuse for three months to pick up new sunnies. I tell myself that I collect sunglasses, like someone else collects stamps, but I think I just have a problem. Sunnies are great to get for yourself, loved ones, friends going to school in the fall, and especially your favorite blogger (cough cough me cough cough). RIP to your bank accounts. These are the best brands I have found:

Ray Ban
Ray Ban sunglasses sit on the faces of basics everywhere, and I am a proud collector. The brand offers an incredible range of styles. You will have no problem finding a pair you like, but may run into trouble with the prices. Most Ray Bans come in around $100-$200. The brand is the President Reagan of sunnies – classic and trusted. If you do decide to make the purchase, keep an eye out for one of the many retailers that offer a warranty with purchase.

Quay
Quay (pronounced key) sunglasses have a great range of styles and at affordable prices. I treat my sunglasses like children, but not everyone is insane like me. If you are prone to losing your sunnies or letting them rattle at the bottom of your bag like a maniac, Quay will be perfect for you. The Australian brand puts a colorful and fun twist on classics. Their convenient prices, at around $50, make the more popular styles hard to buy. Sadly, the website is frustrating for shopping, but stores like Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters are convenient carriers. Recently, Quay collaborated with Desi Perkins and made their best sunglasses to date.

Illesteva
For the last year or so, I have found a new favorite in Illesteva sunglasses. This brand and I have a very star-crossed relationship. They are beautiful, amazing, unique, expensive, and I am a fiscally irresponsible college student. You can customize a lens and frame combination on their website or in Illesteva stores. The styles, size, and shape are not for everyone, so I recommended trying them on before making the investment. The sunglasses are priced around $170-$300. They are limited in stores, but try some on in person before checking out online. Fair warning, some Illestevas can run small, and you are not John Lennon.

Le Specs
Le Specs are a more modern and street style brand. Personally, I love the design of their aviators. Anyone looking for an edgier accessory will love Le Specs. Essentially, these sunnies make me put on John Mellencamp, roll down my car windows, and sip on an iced coffee like a douche. They are mostly sold at Nordstrom and some boutiques for $50-$180, but you can also get them on their website.

Komono
Recently, I discovered the brand Komono. They offer a mix of unique and classic sunglasses ranging in price from around $70-$200. I have not tried a lot of this brand, so do not blame me if they catch on fire when exposed to oxygen or anything. Anyone can find a style that suits them, so this is a brand worth exploring. I have yet to see Komono sold in any stores, but their website is great for shopping their designs.
